USA 2012: Week 1Monday, August 13, 2012
I’ve been MIA for the past two months and I guess from reading the title of my blog post, you already have a clue why. I traveled with my family and relatives. This awesome vacation was a graduation gift from my parents. Gosh, I can never thank them enough for everything!
So, yes, I spent almost two months (7 weeks) in the USA, specifically in NYC. What I want to do now, is to bring these places to you. I hope I can make you see through my own eyes. Our first week revolved around shopping malls (our destination for the first day), museums and iconic sites.
While driving around Manhattan. A parking space is one of the hardest things to find in this place.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) steps where Blair, Serena and their friends usually hang out during the first seasons of Gossip Girl.
Inside the museum…
Pictures from the European Sculpture and Decorative Arts Department. I love the period rooms. Their intricate details are absolutely beautiful. However, if you are a minimalist, you’ll like the ones from the American Wing better (next 4 photos).
These caught my attention and I have no idea why! Hmm. HAHAHA.
Of course, we also went to the Asian Art Department.
Oh, Egyptian Art. I don’t know why, but I’m very interested about Egypt – it’s history, culture, art, etc.
What is that instrument? Hmm.
How New Yorkers eat pizza!
The extended bus my mom is so fond of! We actually rode in one.
My friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the Empire State ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬
The Naked Cowboy and I. Awkwarrrd. You know me – I’m very shy when it comes to these things. HAHAHA.
Mascots in front of Toys R Us
The Statue of Liberty covered with green patina. We discussed this in college!
Ahh! The View!
Suddenly, there’s a duck!
We had to take a ferry ride to and from Liberty Island and Ellis Island.
At Ellis Island with the whole gang
First subway ride (counterpart of our MRT/LRT). We got off at the Grand Central Terminal.
The New York Public Library
If you’re wondering if I made any friends while I was there, the answer is yes. As a matter of fact, the next set of photos is dedicated to them (all taken in Madame Tussauds).
My celebrity crush since Titanic
Yes it’s true, I replaced K Stew as Bella. (Don’t go hatin’, I’m just kiddin’!)
My singer friends Alicia Keys, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Britney Spears.
Here comes the sun doo doo doo doo I’m walking on sunshine woooh! ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬
Me to JB: I ____________ you!!! Love? Hate? I’m not telling! HAHAHA.
Lunch at Dallas BBQ. Look at how big their servings are!
Passed by Fashion Ave.
And Madison Square Garden
Squirrels all over the place. This was at Shake Shack, btw. Merienda agad! The reason why I gained 10 lbs. :( HAHAHA.
Birdie: Finally! I’m free!
Dinner at Serendipity (yes, the one in the movie). Eating time again after shopping! We went to so many places in one day and we just walked. Imagine the pain our legs and feet felt the morning after.
That’s all for now folks. I hope you had fun reading this post! To be continued…
